 1.    NAME

• This award shall be known as the HILO BUDDHIST FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY (Hilo Hoyukai) SCHOLARSHIP AWARD.

2.    SCHOOLS QUALIFIED

• Any accredited College or University in the USA.

3.    QUALIFICATIONS OF APPLICANT

• Applicant must be a senior in High School.
• Applicant and/or parent/guardian must be a member in good standing of the Honpa Hongwanji on the Island of Hawai’i.
• Applicant must be of good moral character with above average scholastic standing.
• Applicant must have participated in church-related activities.

4.    AWARDING OF SCHOLARSHIP

• Winner(s) shall be awarded a Certificate and check of $750.00.  Should the recipient be unable to enroll at any accredited College or University in the USA in September of that year, the scholarship shall be awarded to the next qualified applicant.

5.    FILING OF APPLICATION
